Together for Equality
In our society, we often see girls falling behind in life simply because of their gender. Many young girls take on the weight of family responsibilities, while others are forced to surrender their dreams, ambitions, and potential under societal pressure. They may want to continue their education, to build a life on their own terms. Yet, the practice of child marriage extinguishes these dreams, binding them to marriage at an early age and robbing them of new possibilities that life might offer.
A parent meeting was held at NALUA ABUL KASEM MOLLA SECONDARY SCHOOL to discuss how to prevent Child marriage. I was the presenter at this event and talked about the harmful effects of child marriage. I have successfully implemented the “HeForShe” initiative. I talked about gender stereotypes during the Rover meeting. I encouraged everyone to speak out against violence and discrimination towards women and to take an active role in supporting women's rights in their families and communities.
