
SWA Project- Blood Donation Camp at College.
Many patients are having hard time for finding blood donors in case of emergency due to various health issues. In order to overcome this issues, rovers of college of Science and Technology had done "Blood Donation Camp" as SWA project with following goals: 1. To save life of patient 2. To advocate importance of blood donation 3. To ensure availability of safe blood in blood bank of hospital 4. Actively encourage voluntary blood donation
We had collaborated this SWA project with Phuentsholing Hospital. Firstly, we had look for volunteers from rover of which there were 48 donors. Before we donate our blood, there was blood check up to ensure safe and quality blood for receiver. We marked the "International Day of Peace" by donating the blood after completion of all procedure of donating blood.
Patients looking for blood donors at phuentsholing hospital and 1000 other people might have benefited from this project. We had advocated on importance of blood donation and encouraged voluntary blood donation. We were able to provide blood to a patients suffering from loss of blood due to accidents and other health problems. Blood Donation Camp helped to overcome challenges faces by patients who are in need of blood.
"Donate Blood, Save Life" is the main learning from this project. We learned about importance of blood donation and it's benefits. Moreover, we also got to learn about requirement of haemoglobin percentage(%) in one's body(donor) to have safe donation.
