Stronger Together: Elderly Health Support
I was inspired to start this project because I saw many elderly people in my community who needed more attention for their health. I wanted to create a safe and supportive space where they could receive basic health checks, guidance, and care. My goal was to help them feel valued, improve their well-being, and show that Scouts can make a real difference in community health.
I executed this project by organizing a Posyandu (integrated health service) specifically for the elderly. Together with local health workers, I prepared the venue, set up registration, and assisted in health check-ups such as blood pressure, weight, and basic consultations. I also engaged with the elderly, providing encouragement and making the atmosphere warm and inclusive. The project successfully combined Scout service with community health support.
Through this project, I learned the importance of empathy, patience, and teamwork when working with elderly people. I realized that even small actions, like helping them during health checks or simply listening, can make a big difference. I also learned how collaboration between Scouts and health workers can create a stronger impact on the community.
