Stretch your hand; save the lives

Ethiopia encountered several acute humanitarian challenges as a result of the pandemic and the war throne in the northern part of the country during the past two years. One of the challenges faced is the shortage of blood in the National Blood Bank. The National Bank make an open call to save the lives of human for all volunteers who are eligible to donate. The call inspired Scouts to do their best for other people in need waiting for the goodwill of volunteers.
The project was implemented in Dire Dawa city. The project was executed in response to the shortage of blood faced the National Blood and Tissue Bank. Scouts are not limited to donoation only, also involved in advocacy work inside the community to donate blood. as a result of the effort of the Scouts a total of 189 people have donated. the blood drive has taken in 3 rounds every three months and some 79 Scout and the remaining non-Scout had blood-derived.
The donation will help to save the lives of 576 people especially by reducing maternity death due to a lot of bleeding, and people who have no family or relatives but need blood for medical treatment.
The project learning in this project is the skill of advocacy and community engagement. In addition, Scout have experienced the procedure from deriving to the dissemination of blood.
