Strengthening Leadership Capacity of Scouting in Timor-Leste

The aim of the project was to substantially increase the number of trained Leaders, and qualified Trainers, through the delivery of two Basic Level training courses, one “Training of Trainers” course, and the completion of an Advanced Level Training course in Timor-Leste. The project has enabled Uniao Nacional Dos Escuteiros de Timor-Leste, the Timor-Leste Scout Association, to develop the necessary capability to now conduct its own Leader Training courses. This is the single most important and positive change from the project, and in our view, would never have been achieved were it not for the MoP project, and its funding Because of this project, UNE-TL has a cadre of trained Leaders. Various of those Leaders have completed training to the Basic, Advanced, and "Training of Trainers" level. It is expected that the next Advanced level training course can be conducted in late 2014, in the new Activities Centre, to maintain momentum with the training program It also created critical momentum to grow and develop Scouting in Timor-Leste.
