Story Teller Team and Poetry Parade for International Volunteer Day 2013 Indonesia
As reading volunteer scouts we were invited by United Nation Volunteer (UNV) and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) to contribute in commemorating International Volunteer Day 2013 in Indonesia, in Usmar Ismail Hall, Jakarta, on 5th Dec 2013.
So, we made a large team of PRABUHI's Story Tellers and Poem Readers; 65 Reading Volunteers all together.
It took us 1,5 months to preparing a Poetry Parade, rehears some puppet shows, and a flash mob. All those acts are merely our contributions to the event, as we want to appreciate all young global volunteers for endless committed works for earth and world peace, and to promote voluntarism to young people, in particular scouts.
There in the event, we met hundreds of young volunteers from many NGOs, including Pathfinder. We have tons of fun with them and made plans of joined camps to serve our community together.
We also found how our Poetry Parade which started the event also drove so many people to come to our booth ans ended in offering their availability to support our act as Reading Volunteer Scouts.
This event is truly a marvelous fruitful event for PRABUHI.
We managed to asked almost everybody to pose in Messengers of Peace hand-sign, share stories, contacts and run the postcard campaign together.
The event's motto is: YOUNG, GLOBAL, ACTIVE
and we definitely felt like young, global and active scouts!
