Spiritual Retreat Camp was organised in Sarpang District of Southern Bhutan by the Scouts of Sarpang District: 1 To observe the birth anniversary of the Crown Prince. 2. To recognize the real meaning of living. 3. To impart to the scouts the relation between scouting and religion. It was conducted for 3 days in a temple at Sarpang Zangtopelri for 200 scouts, 42 scout leaders and 20 service scouts. The lessons imparted during for the camp are as follows: 1. Introduction to spiritual practices 2. Eight fold path 3. Importance of respect towards elders 4. Introduction to prayers and meditation 5. Significance of daily offerings/ritual-Choep, tshog & its importance 6. Tha damtse-lay jumdrey,tradition and culture 7. Bhutanese culture--origin of Bhutanese culture and tradition..special characteristics of Bhutanese culture/appreciation on culture and tradition. 8. Four noble truth and how to live a meaningful life. 9. Cultivating patriotism and loyalty. 10. Reflection on life and understanding the previous human life....to contemplate at individual level.
