Small Acts, Meaningful Service
I was inspired to start this project by my desire to contribute to the community and do something useful with my time. I also wanted to gain experience helping out at a monastic institution. As a Scout, I felt that this was a good opportunity to put the values of service and teamwork into practice.
I along with one senior Lt initiated and organised a one-day volunteer service at Kidheykhar Lungtok Choki Gatshel Shedra with a group of fellow Scouts. We worked together and divided tasks among ourselves, assisting with kitchen chores such as cutting vegetable, serving meals, and cleaning. We also swept and cleaned the surroundings and the main Lhakhang, and also helped unload and move necessary items.
Through this project, I learned the importance of teamwork and being willing to help whenever needed. I realised that even simple tasks, like cleaning, helping in the kitchen, or moving things, can make a difference when done together.
