Sleepless Volunteers in Disasters

Cyclone "Rimal" is a major catastrophic cyclone. About 10-12 people lost their lives. After receiving the cyclone forecast, SRM Shaheen Alam Piyas of Bondhon mukto Scout Group sonagazi, feni instructed us to be prepared and alert the people.
It was difficult to execute but we managed to do it. My house is in a coastal area. So I am participating in public awareness and spending sleepless nights with C.P.P members. Thinking of the residents of the sleepy coast, we remain vigilant and monitor the overall situation. We make people aware by going door to door by miking the whole area. Prepare shelters to shelter people in dire situations.
Working as a volunteer may be a temporary hardship but if the people are safe, the hardship will turn into happiness. Working with CPP volunteers was a new experience. Working shoulder to shoulder with them to raise public awareness, stay awake at night to monitor the tide water condition, see if the wind breaks trees and get news of any change in the general movement of people was a practical education for me.
