SIPITANG SABAH SCOUTS CHARITABLE VISIT TO THE SIPITANG DISTRICT HOSPITAL
After days of planning and preparing, finally on the September 30, 2019 the Scouts of Sipitang were able to achieve its mission to visit and distributing sincere gifts to the patients at the Sipitang District Hospital in conjunction with the International Peace Month Celebration.
Led by the Sipitang’s Scouts District Commissioner, Skipper Walter Alvin Jiniti together with his four Assistant District Commissioners and two Rovers (Kelana A Sipitang), arrived at the Sipitang District Hospital at around 1310hrs.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the Scouts of Sipitang was greeted by Madam Faridah who is the Wards Supervisor. A matron brought two trolleys to place the gifts so it was easier to carry all the gifts.
With the guidance and assistance from Madam Faridah and her two staff nurses, the Scouts of Sipitang made their first visit to the Children ward, the Gynaecology ward, the Female and Male ward and to the Haemodialysis Unit to distribute the gifts to all the patients. While distributing the gifts, the Scouts of Sipitang took the opportunity to have a little chat with the patients and the patients’ family members as well as wishing them quick recovery. The patients as well as their family member’s thanked and their face light up every time they heard the sincere wish.
As the tour completed at the Haemodialysis Unit, the Sipitang Scouts thanked Madam Faridah and the other two staff nurses as the representatives of the Sipitang District Hospital for being so helpful and for the great support throughout the charitable visit.
Before everybody bid farewell, the Sipitang Scouts took some group photos with the Sipitang District Hospital.
It was such unforgettable and valuable experience to the Sipitang Scouts for the precious opportunity to visit the Sipitang District Hospital. As it was the FIRST visit (ever) to a hospital in conjunction with the International Peace Month Celebration programme of the Sipitang’s Scouts, it has been implement as planned and had all the support needed.
The Sipitang Scouts will always appreciate the support and the kindness showed by hospital’s staffs and the patients who were being friendly despite of being unwell.
As the International Peace Month Celebration ended on the last day of the month of September, the Sipitang Scouts however, will continue to make more charitable and humanitarian programmes that will be involving bigger crowds from time to time because we the Scouts of Sipitang are the Messengers of Peace.
