A Shave for a Cause

A close mentor to me within the Scouting Community passed away due to Pancreatic Cancer. I wanted to honour their legacy of helping others and display my true appreciation for their service.

I got together with Cancer Council (Australia) and raised awareness at my School by organising a Shave Day and getting my school friends on board to increase fundraising.

The most important thing to note is every dollar raised impacted various people in varieties of ways, whether it be a research student, the affected person or team members of Cancer Council.

If I were to do this differently again, I would love to make this an even more large scale event. I say this because I could not believe the amount of support I got leading up to this from my school alone, which left me wondering how it could have gone if I had done this at a Scout Event!
