SHARING SPOON - YAASH relief fund

At the end of May 2021 another cyclone crashes into the eastern coast of India. Until then those people were still trying to fix and recover the damages done by the previous cyclone a year ago. News channels, Social media everywhere we saw the same news that people are starving, kids are crying on hunger. We as a scout can not see those things and just keep resting. There we thought we should try at least what we can do just to provide them some food to stay alive.
We executed our project in the southern part of west bengal where the damage was excessive. We literally saw people lost their hose and everything and staying on a temporary shelter which is comparatively drier surface. We first collected our own funds and try to maximize the outcome. Then we appeal to our close ones to contribute and then we buy all those foods. After a week we went there and distributed what we had with us.
I don't think any of us can elaborate all those scenarios where we had been and what we saw. At that time it was beyond everything. We don't have a big volume of money in support but the time we left we were relived at least by thinking that for a week now they have some food to counter starvation. They literally cried after receiving those rations from us and by that time we felt how much helpless they are as nobody could see them and how helpless we are, we want to help but there is no way.
Sometimes we prioritize the luxurious things what we don't have and forgot what we have. Rice is our necessity and biriyani is luxury. While returning from there we felt it strongly. We keep complaining how unlucky we are and how we didn't get what we wanted and by doing that we devalued what we have right now. This project was a reality checker for us to think again how lucky we are and there are people who don't have basic things what most of us literally wasting for fun.
