Services at Gomphukora Tsechu

As a Scout, I am reminded that service means being ready to step forward whenever there is a need or problem in the community. The Gomphukora Tsechu provided an opportunity for us to put this Scout value into practice by supporting the community during an important local event. Seeing the large number of people gathering for the festival and understanding the need for proper crowd management and cleanliness motivated us to volunteer our time and effort. We wanted to help create a safe, clean, and organized environment while demonstrating the spirit of service, responsibility, and care for others.

The project was implemented at Gomphukora during the local Tsechu, where a group of Scouts and volunteers came together to provide community service throughout the event. We organized ourselves according to different responsibilities, including assisting with crowd management, collecting litter, and maintaining cleanliness around the festival area. Volunteers worked together to ensure that people could move safely and comfortably while also keeping the surroundings clean and organized. Waste collected from the area was properly gathered and disposed of responsibly, helping to prevent litter from accumulating and contributing to a healthier and more pleasant environment for festival attendees.

The project had a positive impact on the festival by helping maintain a cleaner, safer, and more organized environment for the community and visitors. Our crowd-management efforts helped support the smooth movement of people, while the cleaning activities reduced litter and improved the overall appearance of the festival area. The project also demonstrated the value of youth and Scout participation in community service and encouraged volunteers to take greater responsibility for their surroundings. Most importantly, the experience strengthened the spirit of teamwork, service, and leadership among the Scouts and showed that stepping forward to help when the community needs support is an important part of being a Scout.

Through this project, I learned the importance of teamwork, responsibility, communication, and community service. Working with other volunteers taught us that even a small contribution can make a significant difference when everyone works together toward a common goal. I also improved my communication and coordination skills while helping manage the crowd and maintain cleanliness. The experience showed me that Scouts have an important role to play in supporting their communities, especially during large public events. In the future, the project could be improved by involving more Scouts and volunteers, planning responsibilities in advance, providing clearly marked waste collection points, and creating greater awareness among visitors about keeping the festival area clean.
