Service At Vitamin- A Campaign (Phase-2)
Vitamin- A is an essential nutrient that plays a vital role in maintaining healthy vision, immune function, and overall growth and development. However, millions of people worldwide suffer from Vitamin A deficiency, which can lead to severe consequences such as increased vulnerability to infections, impaired vision, and even blindness. For this reason, every year the government of Bangladesh arranges a campaign of giving Vitamin- A capsule to children.
This project was implemented in Nagar Matri Sadan in sector- 6, road 11 in Uttara, Dhaka-1230. The scouts of Rajuk Uttara Model College gave service there.
About 100+ people benefited from this project. The campaign also emphasized health education. The scouts educated parents and caregivers about the importance of a balanced diet, including foods rich in Vitamin- A, such as dark green leafy vegetables, orange fruits, and vegetables, and animal-based sources like eggs and dairy products. This education empowered families to make informed choices about their nutrition and ensure long-term preventive measures against Vitamin A deficiency.
The Vitamin- A campaign is a crucial initiative in the global effort to combat malnutrition and improve community health. Through supplementation, health education, and integrated interventions, the campaign plays a vital role in preventing Vitamin- A deficiency and its associated health consequences. By participating in and supporting the Vitamin- A campaign, we can contribute to a healthier future for individuals and communities, ensuring brighter prospects for generations to come.
