Service Rendered for Dasara Festival at Gokarnanatheswara Temple, Kudroli

                As we know that every year we celebrate Dasara festival in a grand manner. It is also our state festival. This year we the rovers of St.Philomena College Darbe Puttur with the rovers of other colleges from Daksina Kannada District had rendered service for Dasara at Gokarnanatheswara Temple Kudroli Mangalore.

On 04-Oct-2019 we started our journey in the early morning 7:30am by bus. On around 10:00 to 10:30 am we reached the temple and reported for the manager of the temple. He showed us room to stay and gave breakfast. At the time of 11:00am we reported to our duty. Our duty is to pack prasadam of Goddess. We started our work. Our work carried for long till 1:30 pm. Then we had our lunch. Later till 2:30 pm we took rest. At the time of 3:00 pm out duty was changed, and we had to control the crowed in the temple. It was really a hard job. We had to maintain the line of people, manage their crowed and also we were informed to observe the people and should not allow them to take selfies. We shouted like anything think to manage them. We had experienced with lot of people with different kind of nature. Some are cool, some are rash, some are friendly and some are helpless. At the end of the day at night 10:00 pm we stopped our duty and went back to our room. We finished our bath and went for rounds in the fair ground. Finally around 1:00 am we went to sleep.     

On 05-Oct-2019 we again reported for the duty at 10:30 am for crowed management. In between we had our breakfast. Also we went inside the temple to view the beauty of the temple. It is very beautiful temple. At 10:00 am people began to rush. We are again started to manage that crowed also in between we supplied water to drink. Also we had the responsibility to bring the prasadam to temple from the packing area. That was time of Dasara and has Auditorium for exhibition of goddess statues. I mean that we rendered our service there. At a time of 12:00 pm we were allowed guided to serve the lunch. Hence we gathered in the launch area to serve the devotees. It was good experience. We have served thousands of people in afternoon lunch. Around 2:30 pm we finished our launch and took rest. At the time of 3:30 pm we again get back to our duty which means crowed to manage. Again Around 10:00 pm we were done with our duty and went to see the fair shops of festival. We purchased something to eat and drink and ended our day for around 12:30 am.

On 06-Oct-2019 some rovers had left and some of new teams of rovers and rangers joined us. On that day we guided the new team. Also we did the crowed management till 10:00 pm from 10:00 am.

On 07-oct-2019 it was our last day. We had to leave from there. All were collected certificate previous night and distributed among ourselves. We were also served with prasadam by the authority of the temple. We thanked all of the authority of the temple and also our rover friends who joined us previous day and left the temple by 10:00 am.

I was very happy to render the service there. There were Lakhs and Lakhs of devotees who came to the fair. At the last of my service I feel blessed.
