There is one simple old age home built in 2014 by Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag administration in collaboration with Samdrup Jongkhar community base scouts, Royal Bhutan police of Samdrup Jongkhar and other volunteers for one old couple and a nun. It is a simple hut just located above Samdrup Jongkhar Dzong parking. They don't have anyone to look after and they purely depend on those kind hearted people who have the will power to feel the pain of them. We the members of Samdrup Jongkhar community base scouts and scout leaders of Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde discussed together and went to help them. The conditions were really pathetic and it was heart breaking to see them living in such condition. It was more heart breaking to see them shedding the tears of pain of not having the life like others though they were born human. We did to our best by cleaning their surrounding, washing their clothes and rooms, giving bath, changing their clothes and bed sheet and blanket, collecting firewood for old couple, and we also bought some edible items.
