Sense of volunteerism leads to change

As john Mayer rightly said, "Don't be afraid of change because it is leading you to the new beginning", the group of boys (28 to be exact) came to me and requested me to give them opportunity to work so that they also contribute in changing the school. I was really thrilled and filled my eyes with tears as it was my first time encountering students coming to teachers and asking for a work. I had no idea where to send them to work at and one boy among the group suggested, "sir, why not we paint the school mess as we can derive from the word itself that the place is messy?" adding little humour to end his talk. I thought that was really a nice idea. We then started to clean the mess dusting off the dust on the wall and then started painting the walls of the school mess with synthetic paint for first round. the completion of work was done today with complete painting even in the mess store and it looked really awesome. Those students wore students with the sense of satisfaction from their little contribution that made an impact. I wish we had more youths like them so that they can really make our Bhutan the Last Shangrila.
