Senior Scouts Anti-Bullying Campaign
What drives me to complete this project is a desire to help young people who have been victims of bullying at school. Currently, our school does not have a guidance counselor or any other competent employees to handle or deal with these instances. As a result, this issue was typically overlooked and unrecorded. As a teacher at this institution and an Outfit Advisor of the Senior Scouts, I encourage the scouts to take the initiative to organize a Room-to-Room Anti-Bullying campaign.
This project was carried out at Himamaylan National High School. We discussed and planned ahead of time with my other Outfit advisors and Senior Scout Crew leaders on how this would be accomplished. We developed printed IEC materials for use in this campaign.
This project benefited around two thousand students. They were taught about the implications of engaging in bullying behavior. What will be the unfavorable consequences for their victims? What actions they would do if they knew someone who was bullying, and how they would assist someone who was bullied.
As an adult leader, I will encourage my scouts to continue this anti-bullying program in order to promote awareness of the negative consequences of bullying. It can lead to victims experiencing loneliness, low self-esteem, and despair, so it must be avoided so that we can live in a peaceful and harmonious community.
