Scouts of the World Challenge: Plasma Donation Drive

Scouts of the World Challenge: Plasma Donation Drive

For the 100 years of Rovers Scouts of the World Challenge, I choose to organise group plasma donations at our local Red Cross blood donation centre. The aim of the challenge was to have 100 plasma donations, which would save 300 lives of those in need. The name of our donation group is Red Rover100, to celebrate the challenge and 100 years of Rovers.

As a group, we go and donate plasma every second Monday night and so far we have had a total of 148 donations, saving 444 lives! The challenge has been a fantastic success, and we have had the chance to dress up for Halloween and St Patrick's Day donation nights, and celebrate the 1st birthday of the donor centre with the staff. We also received the Community Award for the ACT region for 2018.

We look forward to many more donation nights, particularly as we near 500 lives saved!

The photo shows our group donating on Wednesday April 3rd. To keep up to date with our other content, visit our facebook page.

If you're in Canberra join our Red group and donate plasma today!
