Bhutan, a mountainous country is susceptible to flash floods during the monsoon. 2016 saw the onslaught of the monsoon early. The onslaught of incessant rain caused flash floods and destroyed the main highways and homes in the southern part of Bhutan. 100 Adult Leaders and Scouts of Gelephu City made a trip to help the people of Gelephu since the main water treatment plant was destroyed by the flood. The Scouts went to assist the Army and other volunteers to restore the water treatment plant.
