10 senior scouts conregated to lend their helping hands to the hermits living in the mountains. The hermits are monks who have given up the materialistic life to meditate and practise celibacy for the rest of their lives. The hermits pray everyday and medidate in their huts in the mountains north of thimphu. Senior scouts of thimphu planned to carry rations to the hermits. Hermits are not permitted to have any contact win the people and rationsbhave to be dropped off at their doorsteps of their retreat hits. Senior scouts made their journey uphill from 8:00 am and reach the retreat centre at 12:30 on. The scouts handed over the rations and other vital items on the doorsteps and rang the bell to indicate that good have been delivered so that they win have to have any sort of contact with them. The return journey was made around 2:00 on after a quick lunch and reached home around 6:00 pm. We were very thrilled about carrying rations and other necessary items in our backs and handed over to the mystical monks living in the mountains secluded from all worldly living beings. The monks pray and medidate for world peace and harmony of all sentient beings.
