Scouts Against Malaria

SCOUTS AGAINST MALARIA In its quest to fight against Malaria in Malawi, The Scout Association of Malawi were on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2017, distributed mosquito nets to 50 house holds in Kasiya, Khonjani area in Mchinji district. Statics collected from #Chilobwe, a nearby health centre, shows that out of 10 people that come to receive treatment at the health centre, 8 are of Malaria related. You can clearly see how big the problem is in this area. Malaria continues to be a major public health problem in Malawi. The disease accounts for 40 percent of hospitalizations in children under five, 30 percent of all outpatient visits and is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality across all age groups. The #Scout_Against_Malaria project is inline with the Messengers of Peace program and the project is being funded by our fellow scouts in the UK, the Hampshire Scout Troop. #MessengersofPeace #betterworld #Scoutorg #hampshirescouts #scouts #Peace
