Location: the mock-up of the ancient Kyiv. Time: 2 days. Number of participants: 12 people. In 988, through a wooden Sophia gates passed three people: Varangian, Byzantine and Greek Ambassadors. Realizing that Kyivan Rus is a very interesting culturally, economically and militarily, they wanted to build diplomatic relations with Prince Vladimir... The members of the Scout group "Totem" together in three patrols imagined that they were Varangian, Byzantine and Greek Ambassadors. Performing various complicated tasks Scouts learnt about the culture and history of Kyiv and of the reign of Vladimir the Great. They acquainted with the fashion of the time, learned the names of that time and what food was preparing by the women of the Kyivan Rus. In general, these two days were very interesting and very informative, because those who don’t know their past won’t have the future.
