
Scout Journey for Peace Stage 5
This time the project was carried out from Pemalang to Semarang Poncol Station with four scouts (Kharis, Satrio, Satrya and Aji) from Randudongkal sub-district and 2 young volunteer from UNDIP (Elin Marlina) and Joko Susilo (Unswagati)and one scout leader (R.h Anggit Bakhtiar). Semarang became our main objective to disseminate the message of peace to all passengers on the train and at some tourist spots such semarang historians in the Old City, Lawang Sewu Museum and the Sam Poo Kong Temple .
SJFP activities not only spread the message of peace but also the participants read out the public information such as the importance of nature conservation, solar power, sanitation and railroad history of Indonesia to the passengers and visitors at tourist attractions. Along the way participants SJFP also shared a bottle of water to beggars , homeless and street children , this activity is intended that they share with others.
Semarang is a city on the north coast of the island of Java, Indonesia. It is the capital and largest city of the province of Central Java. The Semarang's people really appreciate the differences in culture , ethnicity and religion. Many Mosques, Churches and Temples stood in the city. Semarang corner stood a train museum which was built during the Dutch era . SJFP participants visited the museum Lawang sewu and learn a lot about the history of railways in Indonesia . The theme of the project is the magnificent of Semarang in the past.
