Scout Camp at İzdos Spil in the footsteps of Ataturk

The founder of our great leader, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, commemorates the 6th Ataturk festival that we have traditionally made during the Youth Sports Day İzdos Spil de İzmir Our Camp was made at Spil Mountain on the border of İzmir Manisa. 19 May 1919, the date of Atatürk's birth in Samsun, was accepted as Atatürk's birthday at the same time as the beginning of the War of Independence. On the 98th anniversary we had a three-day camp in İzmir Spil with 5 leaders, 5 scout volunteers, 15 scouts and 15 tents. The use of ax knife, compass, technological trace marks were applied, games were played, Atatürk and War of Independence poems, Scout songs and anthems, Atatürk's favorite songs were sung. All of the meals were cooked at campfire, tea was brewed, and it was drunk. The forest is challenging, the water difficulties, the energy is difficult. We did a series of activities. Day and night walks were held. We are not accustomed to winds of 18 knots, air temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, and unfortunately we are not ready for winter conditions, so it was quite cold in summer tents. Our campers are still happy in difficult conditions. We will not forget Soma, the 301 miners died, on the anniversary.
