Scout and Marine Collaboration
Our Scout organization is celebrating its anniversary, and we chose to mark the occasion by planting mangroves. Mangroves play a vital role in sustaining the Earth’s energy and air by absorbing carbon, producing oxygen, and protecting coastlines. As a scout, I believe their preservation is essential for a healthier and more sustainable future.
In commemoration of the Scout Anniversary at my school, our Scout organization collaborated with the Marine Corps to carry out a mangrove planting activity. This event coincided with the Marine Corps Anniversary, allowing both celebrations to take place hand in hand, with each organization marking its special day. Funded by the Marine Corps, the project also involved experts from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Coached by experts before planting mangroves.
I learned that preserving the environment takes teamwork and awareness. This project showed me how vital mangroves are in protecting nature and inspired me to take more responsibility in conservation efforts.
