School Vegetable Garden
Aspendale Scouts have formed a relationship with Yarrabah School. There was need for working to be done at the After school Vegetable garden. Veggies are harvested by students and given to families in need. The soil needed to be toiled, seedlings provided and planted. Additionally, repairs we performed to a School Trike, and The Chicken run get checked to see that the chickens are put away in the evening. On this occasion 28/3/2022 the Chicken run door was off its hinges and was fixed.
On Yarrabah School Grounds
Veggies are planted, students water them on a daily basis
Cubs learnt about needs in the local community, plants, veggies and how to plant.
Additionally, toys get broken and funding is not always available for repairs. The Maintenance man doesn't always get time to do the required repairs.
A watchful eye on the chicken run is also good.
We will continue with weeding when is light again.
