SandMoot 2016 - Rover Scouts giving service (Australia)

SandMoot is an annual event in Western Australia for Rover Scouts, where Rovers camp on the beach over a long weekend, explore a range of local locations, and give a range of service to different places in town. This year, the Rover Scouts were divided into three teams - one group did service at the local RSL (Retired Servicemens League) Hall where they did some restoration work; another group went to the Community Garden, where they pruned and fixed in areas that were falling apart; and the final group traveled to the Local Scout Hall and Guide Hall. The Scout Hall was given a fresh coat of paint inside and outside, with the Guide Hall next door getting a fresh coat of paint outside - which was greatly appreciated by the local Scout Group Leader. Over 70 Rovers took part in this, from Crews around the state. By being involved with the community, a number of Rovers were able to become Messengers of Peace.
