Safe Water and Sanitation Awareness
We were inspired to start this project because ensuring safe water and proper sanitation is essential for the health and well-being of children. Teaching Cub Scouts about these topics helps build healthy habits early, reducing illness and promoting a cleaner, safer environment for their families and communities.
We organized interactive sessions with the Cub Scouts at Karaitala Government Primary School. Using fun activities, demonstrations, and easy-to-understand explanations, we taught them about safe water practices, the importance of handwashing, and maintaining proper sanitation. We also encouraged them to share what they learned with their families and friends to spread awareness.
Through this project, we learned that teaching children about safe water and sanitation can have a lasting impact on their health and well-being. We realized that simple habits like handwashing and clean water use, when practiced from a young age, help prevent diseases. Also, involving young scouts encourages them to become ambassadors of health awareness in their families and communities.
