Safe Roads: Safe Lives.
Traffic control near hospitals is a vital, life-saving service. Every second matters for ambulances and patients. By managing traffic, raising awareness, and keeping hospital areas clear, we prevent delays and stress. It also teaches discipline, patience, and the value of helping others. Even small actions, like not blocking entrances and giving way to ambulances, make a big difference.
When tragedy struck at Milestone School with a plane crash and fire, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery was overwhelmed. At dawn, our 36 Rescue Open Scout Group stepped forward. We split into two teams, standing at opposite ends of the hospital like guiding hands, keeping the roads clear so ambulances could glide through. Slowly, the chaos eased. The traffic flowed again. And patients—racing against time—found their way to treatment because of our small act of service.
This project taught me how precious time is in emergencies and how teamwork, discipline, and patience can make a big difference. I learned that even small actions, like guiding traffic, can help save lives and that taking initiative to serve others is a powerful way to support the community.
