Saanthwana Sandesha Yathra 2015 Nov 27 to Dec 08

Encouraged by their Scoutmasters to contribute to a philanthropic cause, a group of scouts collected funds for a campaign initiated by the Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides. The state-wide campaign titled ‘Sandhwana’ started recently by the Bharat Scouts and Guides aims at providing monitory help to needy and terminally-ill patients.

As part of the Units contribution, Scouts collected money from the students’ neighbourhoods and the school’s surroundings, from a radius of upto 15 kms.

The Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides is organising Santhwana Sandesha Yatra from November 27 to December 8 from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram to spread the message and create more awareness about the programme. This yatra is being organised as part of its HeSaS (Health, Sanitation, Services) scheme  The aim of the event is to help poor patients stricken with terminal diseases like cancer. 

As part of the yatra, an event will be organised where around 1,000 patients from 163 local associations will be handed a sum of `9 lakhs. At the end of the yatra, an ambulance will be donated on behalf of the state association to the Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram
