S1E1: The One Where TSG Pack Their Spirit In A Box
Lebanon has been going through a very tough time for a long period. Therefore, on this Christmas, Troupe St George decided to ignite a spark of hope in the lives of children who have no hope anymore. Christmas is about the gift of giving, thus, that's what we took and implemented. People are reaching very low points in their lives, so why not change the script of where this is heading? We wanted to start the change, no matter how small, for a better future.
Our project took place in 'Smile in box"'s headquarters. It's where they receive their donations.We headed there and started packing with them.Their initiative is filing boxes for kids.Our girls took a box as start, filled it with 5 essential things: hygiene,books and pens,food,clothes and toys. After that, they chose whether this box was for a girl or a boy and for what ages ranging from 3 till 12.Each box was specific and personalized with a special touch by writing notes and Christmas wishes.
Around 150 kids will benefit from our few hours at "Smile in a box". And as a starting project, the number is amazing. The huge impact we will leave is amazing. Those kids, this Christmas, will not only feel the Christmas spirit, but also know that there is someone who cares about them. They will not be underprivileged this year. They will have gifts to open with necessities and Christmas presents. This grain of change will not only benefit kids, but will push other people to also help.
This project opened our eyes on the importance of implementing small change that will leave huge impacts. We focused on the Christmas spirit and its amazing influence. Moreover, we allowed the girls to be part of something bigger than themselves and know that they are enough and capable to execute such projects. All together, we learned that moments like those can be a huge change in the lives of many people. We changed someone's Christmas; and that, is an amazing lesson to learn.
