Rovers around the world are celebrating 100 years of Rover Scouting in 2018. The year 2018 marks a " Decade of Rover Scouting" in Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, Royal University of Bhutan, Dewathang, Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan. Developing the significance of the "Rovers Centenary" and " Decade of Rover Scouting(2008-2018)" in the college the Rover Scouts embarked on fund raising event for the community development initative with the target to generate the amount of 100 Thousand Ngultrum ( BTN, Bhutanese currency) within the time frame of 100 days. On 26th September, 2018, the Rover Scouts of the college observed the day highlighting the importance of year long event and for successful achievement of set goal. The the commitment ceremony for the new recruits in Rover Scouting was aligned with the event honouring every member with membership badge and a scarf. The Service Badge was awarded to the deserving Rover Scouts. The event was graced by the President of the college Dr. Andu Dukpa. The Deans, entire faculty, staff and students of the college attended the event. The District Commissioner, Secretary and Scout Leaders from various schools under the district were the guest for the event. The event was supported with financial assistance from the college management.
