I am a member and secretary of Rotaract Club of Nadi New Horizon and we did Cyclone Winston relief project just after Fiji was hit by it. Since, there was not enough time to do a proper fundraising, we had a couple of emergency meetings and involved the members, family and friends of Rotaract to gather donations mainly household items, basic needs and agricultural assistance. Members were delegated with responsibilities and by 12th March, our club was ready to assist victims of cyclone Winston. We took a bus with 30 members (man power) and as directed by DISMAC, we went to the interiors of Rakiraki and donated the items. We, as young members also assisted in clean up and dismantling of community hall in Nabalabala village as it was their only evacuation center but unfortunately was devastated by cyclone.
