Renovation of Community Temple

Being a committed citizen to my king and country i always wanted to give back to my community and make a contribution in my own small ways towards national building. Further, as Bhutan penetrates into the world of modernization which is imperative but having said that it also have significant impact on our culture and tradition. On that account, i as a responsible citizen and member of my community strongly felt the need to preserve and promote our culture by renovating temples and stupas.
The project was initiated by the head of village. wherein, all the villagers and youths volunteered and rendered their service for a one day long work to maintain the window glass frame of temple. The elder workers lead the work and youths provide their assistance. We could successfully complete all the glass works and moreover, subsequent to it we did a mass cleaning in and around the temple.
I strong feel that it had a significant impact in the community. As the Temple is one of the oldest and scared temples in the community, it has hugely benefited the villagers. Prior to the renovation, only handful villagers would visit but now more visitors started to come to because of its new environment and beauty. Further, due to the renovation, some important relics and stupas inside the temple could be secured from robbery.
I thoroughly enjoyed the work and could learn a lot of news values nd knowledge. I have heard about the Temple before but it was so vague. However, as i volunteered for the work, i could learn the whole history of the Temple i was indeed a blessing for me. The day was so important for me that it added values to my life as to what really is happiness. Apparently, wealth is happiness for most people but little did they know that giving and helping others for a good cause is the real happiness.
