Red Rover Day - International Day of Peace

Occurring on the Rover Scout calendar on a regular basis is 'Red Rover Day' - a blood drive for Rover Scouts to encourage them to donate blood and help other people in many ways. It's important to know that one in three Australians will need blood at some stage during their lifetime – but only one in 30 currently give it. Australia needs 26,000 blood donations per week to ensure there are adequate supplies for those people who need it. Taking time to come together every six weeks at alternating Blood Banks to compete for the 'Vampire Cup' (to see which Rover Crew can donate the most blood!), Rover Scouts recently came to donate together on International Day of Peace in Fremantle, Australia. We thank the many Rovers from different Rover Crews who came together for this worthy cause, and to be Messengers of Peace in their community!
