On May 30, 2017, the 13th day of teaching was held. Like always, the Scouts, going with their Team Consultant, arrived upon the place by 7:00 AM, to start preparing for their day. The Scouts were greeted by the Boy Scouts, that early, just to help them prepare. They brought up their visuals, readied their activities and rehearsed teaching. The Boy Scouts were being a great help every day, and because of them, they finished preparing as early as 8:00 AM. When they were all complete, they went off to their Opening Ceremony to officially start their day. Of course, before they start a quite long lesson, they danced first to “We Like to Move It” that will serve as their morning exercise. Everybody enjoyed to this, of course, and it was followed by the famous Filipino folksong, “Magtanim Ay ‘Di Biro” so that they could get a hint of what the day’s lesson will be all about. They guessed, of course, it was all about plants; and then, they officially started their lesson by 8:30 AM. The lesson was all about 10 edible plants and how 3 of them can be prepared. The teachers for the day presented their lesson by giving examples, explaining them and telling them how and what part to eat in them. After a while, they did their first activity. Their first activity was an easy one, it was a warm-up; they needed to spot the difference between the two pictures. Each of them were given the chance to go in front to point what part was different from the other. They finished this by 9:45 AM. Then, they started their next activity immediately after the other. Their next activity was to fix a puzzle. Two puzzles were given, each with 5 pieces. The Boy Scouts were halved into two small groups, each containing five members, to do the puzzle. Everybody gladly cooperated with each other and they finished this activity by 10:00 AM. Their last activity was to color a plant the way they want it to, and they finished this by 11:00 AM. All of them tired from the day, they took their snack break to eat, drink and rest. Despite of being tired, they still helped the Scouts fix their visuals as they were about to leave. Thanking the Boy Scouts for being such a great help, the Scouts left with grins on their faces, promising the Boy Scouts for a lot more.
