RCI-Rodriguez: SWA Voluntary Service - Sixth Service

On May 4, the 6th day of teaching has finally been done. As usual, the Scouts, guided by their Team Consultant, went off to Cottolengo Filipino early in the morning to start the preparations. They arrived by 7:00 AM, with the Boy Scouts there, waiting for their arrival. They immediately unpacked their bags, taking out the necessary items, and started preparing, now with the help of Boy Scouts. Some of the Boy Scouts were still not there, again, finishing their morning routine. As they have finished, they started their Opening Ceremony; it was already 8:00 AM by then and finished at 8:15 AM. Immediately after, the assigned teachers started teaching about the history of the Philippine flag. After this, they went along to their activities. Starting at 9:00 AM, the first activity was done by fixing a puzzle each were given. Everyone was given a small replica of the former looks of the Philippine flag. Everybody has done the activity, and has had fun doing it. They finished by 9:15 AM, and next, they moved on to the 2nd activity. In the second activity, different provinces in the Philippines were laid out onto the table, but only 8 will fit the 8 rays of the Sun. With their guides, everyone successfully managed to do the activity quite hastily. They finished by 10:00 AM. Their next and 3rd activity was to build the present Philippine flag, with the assigned puzzle piece given to each. With the guides, and teachers, they finished the activity, while the teachers were giving fun facts about the Philippine flag. Everyone was eager to learn more, and have more fun. They finished this by 10:30 AM. Their last, 4th activity, was coloring the church. As they were coloring, the teachers gave out lessons as to why religion is important, and why you should love Our God. And then, lastly, this activity was finished by 11:30 AM. Again, as their day was about to end, with the activities finished, and everyone tired, they didn't forget to have their 30-minute snack break. Before starting, everyone bowed down to pray, thanked for the meal, and then started, As soon as everybody was done, they waved goodbye to the Scouts, exchanging smiles and waves, hoping to see each other next time.
