RCI-Rodriguez: SWA Voluntary Service - Orientation

Of course, before heading onto their plans, they know it wasn’t easy. They thought of having an orientation/seminar from the people in Cottolengo Filipino who know most about the children, from their attitudes and personalities to how to make them happy. The Scouts were specifically oriented by one of the heads in Cottolengo Filipino. She mentioned that most of them have “down syndrome” but still has a unique story behind them; she has also specially mentioned each of the children the Scouts will be teaching in the future, explaining each and every special attributes each of them behold. There’s someone who is hardworking and obedient, but when he has something to think of his own, he really wouldn’t listen to you. There’s also someone who is affectionate but very jealous at times, that’s why he is a bit harder to teach. There’s also a “baby” among them, who will be most likely to make little tantrums. But of course, among them is a leader who really knows what he is doing, and is willing to understand his “brothers” – he may not be able to speak well, but he is very compassionate in what he is doing. All of these information, and so much more what put into the minds of the Scouts… well, not only just the mind, but also engraved into their hearts. They knew that the journey would be a bit hard but will be fun anyways.
