On June 14, 2017, the 18th and last day of teaching in Cottolengo Filipino was held. The Scouts, along with their Team Consultant, Sir Lyel Lim, ventured off to Cottolengo as early as 7:00 AM. As they've arrived, the Boy Scouts immediately saluted them. With smiles on the Boy Scouts faces, and eyes filled with sadness, the Boy Scouts were still energized to help the Scouts fix the things and visuals to be used. Their last and final lesson is about patrols, meetings, song and yell. The teacher for the day have prepared their lesson thru a laptop, which was easier to set up. As they were fixing, the Boy Scouts would ask whether the Scouts would come again. And of course, the Scouts would always be happy to visit, cheering them up. After they've finished their preparations, they immediately started the Opening Ceremony at 8:00 AM to start their day. By 8:15 AM, they were finished with the Opening Ceremony and the teacher for the day immediately started. She first told them about the Patrol, wherein it was compared to a family. And then, she told them about the meetings wherein you would talk about who does this specific chore. Lastly, she told them about the song and yell. When compared to a family, this was their bonding time, their happy moments. Every Boy Scout caught on and realized the similarity; a patrol is similar to a family. Then, by 9:30, AM, they started their first activity. Their first activity was to role play. 2 Scouts have been chosen to be the "mom" and "dad" while each Boy Scout will pair with a friend, and will be "siblings". They will pick up a piece of paper from a small container, containing different things a Scout/good member of the society does. The mom and dad will act as someone who needs help in something, and the Boy Scouts know what to do in that situation. They finished by 10:15 AM. Their next activity was to fix a puzzle. Each was given a piece, and, everyone will cooperate in fixing the puzzle, acting as a whole patrol. As they've finished the puzzle, they will guess what is on the picture, and --- it was a patrol, they said in unison. Everyone was enjoying the activity that they didn't notice that they were all bonding together. They finished this by 10:30 AM. Their last activity was to make their own flag, drawing on a flaglet. They chose their favorite animal and they drew it on the paper, everyone happy to be designing their crew flag, thinking that one day they'd be a Patrol Leader. By 11:30 AM, they were finished. As they've finished this, they were all still full of energy, but, of course, hungry. They washed their hands, prayed and went on to their 30-minute snack break. After they've finished, they had their own initiative to fix the things that the Scouts used. They helped in cleaning the place up, and, after this, they had teary farewells from each other, vowing that they'd meet again.
