RCI-Rodriguez: SWA Voluntary Service - Eleventh Service

Last May 23, 2017, the 11th day of the Scouts' project has been held. They arrived by 7:00 AM to prepare the things and the equipment to be used today. The Scouts have noticed that the Boy Scouts have been doing a great job in completing their requirements, listening attentively to the lessons, and participating in the various activities that the Scouts have prepared for them every time they visit; so, the Scouts have prepared and made this day a special one, they will make it a “break day” for the Boy Scouts to enjoy. The preparation finished by 8:00 AM in the morning, finished preparing for the upcoming activities to be done. They immediately started the Opening Ceremony to welcome their day. Then, after this, they explained to everybody that they will be taking a break from the lessons, so it will be a day just for them to enjoy! To prepare for the activities, they first did a morning stretching exercise to warm up. They finished by 9:00 AM, and then proceeded to their first activity. The first activity was easy, it was to chant dance to a song about peace, and everyone followed the leader up front. This was done by 9:45 AM. By that time, they did their next activity. Their next activity was to play a game called “Hep-hep-hooray!”. When someone is pointed with a mic and is told the words “hep” or “hooray”, they will do the corresponding action assigned to the said word. Being Scouts, they assigned the Scout Salute for “hep” and the Scout Sign for “hooray”. A Scout was assigned to hold the mic and facilitate the game, which, everyone had fun in. They finished by 10:30 AM. Their last activity was called “Hot Potato”. The Boy Scouts formed a circle and one of them was given a coin. As the music starts playing, they will pass it around and when the music stops, the person where the coin stopped will dance in the middle of the circle. Since everyone also enjoys dancing, everyone had a fun time with this activity the most. They finished the last activity by 11:00 AM. After all these, they sat down and recalled what the day was all about. The Boy Scouts, recalling the Scout Law, said that a Scouts will always remain cheerful. They took their snack break after, and helped the Scouts fix the chairs, tables and equipment used. They bid their farewells and hoped to another fun day with the Scouts!
