RCI Rodriguez: SWA Voluntary Service - Eighth Service

The 8th day of teaching has been conducted on May 11, 2017. The Scouts and their Team Consultant arrived in Cottolengo Filipino on 7:00 AM, excited to teach the Boy Scouts. Once again, the Boy Scouts were all lined up, ready to help the Scouts prepare their visuals and fix the chairs. Preparation time finished by 8:00 AM, and they immediately proceeded onto the Opening Ceremony. After the Opening Ceremony at 8:15 AM, they started their lesson for a requirement to move up onto the Tenderfoot Rank. The lesson for the day was about rules to follow in our homes. The lesson was quite long, yet everybody enjoyed it through fun teaching and proper demonstrations. Everyone also participated in oral recitations, sharing their knowledge with their peers. They finished the lesson proper by 9:45 AM. Then, they proceeded onto their activities. The first activity was to color a Scout, doing a good deed by respecting his fellowmen, setting an example for the Boy Scouts to follow. After giving them the provided coloring materials by the Scouts, they worked diligently to make it a nice and colorful drawing. They finished by 10:45 AM Their next activity was to do enactments of some of the rules in the house. Each had their acting partner, and everybody had the chance to perform it up front. They finished this by 11;00 AM. After the day, they had a snack break. They prayed and proceeded to eating, thanking the Scouts for their generosity. After this, they helped the Scouts fix the tables and chairs, saying goodbye to them, with another round of ‘thanks’, asking them when they’d come again.
