RCI-Rodriguez: SWA Voluntary Service - Eighteenth Service
Of course, the Scouts also started to teach them again, to mingle and meet with the children and share a small moment while they were completing their requirements for the next rank. And then, on June 12, 2017, was the Scouts' next visit to Cottolengo Filipino.
The teacher for the day discussed about concerning how to take care of plants. This was led by their team consultant, Mr. Lyel Lim. They had an interactive lesson with activities simultaneously done while teaching. After the lesson and activities done within it, the children then lastly engaged themselves in coloring once again. After all these, they took their 30-minute snack break and began talking and socializing with the Scouts. The children's hearts were warming up to the Scouts and were already open to them as if they were family... unexpectedly, the children were actually easy to be with, making the session pretty much smoother and funner; the Scouts also got to know who the secretary of Cottolengo was talking about, as their personalities arose above. Despite this, the Scouts had an actually much easier day in making the children try to understand and they very much ended up having a fun, productive time with the children, making the day a success.
All in all, it was a fun experience for the Scouts but they really hope to get closer with the children in Cottolengo Filipino. It may be a bit challenging since their first time, but they knew that this will all be really fun. The more and more they visited, the easier the days went by, and the better the days seemed. All the Scouts did enjoy this day.
