Ramadan Support to Needy Scout Families
To reaffirm my continued commitment to the education, acceptance and appreciation of Gender equality, diversity and inclusion and assures that all have equal opportunities in creating a better world through a value system based on community involvements, women empowerment and education. To help built better world where members are self-fulfilled and play constructive roles in creating a better world.
This project was implemented in the Gambia through a campaign to distribute 50 food package targeting vulnerable scout families during the month of Ramadan. The distribution campaign coincided with the month of Ramadan, in which the spirit of solidarity and social synergy is embodied, this campaign embodies the humanitarian principles that the Gambia Scouts believe in the need to extend a helping hand in contributing to provide the basic requirements of Ramadan to alleviate their living burdens.
As the global pandemic makes finding food even harder for those living in extreme poverty, this project have provided basic food commodities directly to hundreds of vulnerable and needy scout families. The beneficiaries of the Project express there appreciation to the provision of these basic food aid to their families, in contributing to the creation of a better world in combating inequalities among community members focusing on marginalized families during this month of Ramadan.
The strength and value of volunteering in the scout movement in the fight against food insecurity confirms to me scouting continued commitment to the SDGs and to food and nutrition security.
