Ramadan Project 2023
As this year we (25th MSG) celebrates 15 years of scouting we had intended to conduct activities as much as possible. Since we had no scout meetings during the month of Ramadan we decided that planning a project related to the month would be a great idea to keep all our scouts on track.
The project was split into 3 parts. The first part was a Ramadan Quiz which was open to cubs and scouts of all ages, Winners of the competition were awarded with certificates and gifts from our sponsors. The second part of the project was sweet distribution on Eid Al-Fitr. We had scouts stationed at different mosques to distribute sweets to young children after Eid prayer. The last part was donating fruits to the sick at ADK hospital on the evening of Eid al-fitr.
Cubs and scouts who were on a break during the Ramadan period were able to participate in a spiritual scouting activity. More than 35 scouts participated daily in the quiz which shows that scouts were learning different research skills in order to get correct answers for the quiz.
This project proved us that there are simple but entertaining ways to strengthen our spiritual beliefs and how much of a benefit our society could have from a small effort of ours.
