Raising Awareness About Mensuration.

Menstruation is not a problem, poor menstrual hygiene is.Menstruation is the monthly shedding of the lining of a woman's uterus (more commonly known as the womb) in biology terms. The average girl will get her first period around 12 years old, but it varies from person to person.I volunteered to donate pads as to break taboos surrounding menstruation, I helped in raising awareness of the importance of good menstrual hygiene management.
We gathered around 25 scouts in order to help raise awareness of mensuration, we all bought and donated pads towards Red Bhutan, we went around place near our school raising awareness on the importance of mensural hygiene and gave pads to those who weren’t able to afford. We also had a talk on the importance of mensuration and how theres nothing to be ashamed of, and how they should ask for help and men’s shouldn’t be grossed out.
Many people were benefited form this project both men and woman. It helped woman to be more comfortable in asking for help, and also helped men to understand what a woman should need in order to be given the best care and how they shouldn’t be grossed as it is normal and they should alway help a girl in need. It also told woman on how there’s no need to be embarrassed as it is normal and it happens to all woman.
I learned on how to properly help a woman while they are on their period, as it is a difficult time for them and how we should not be give unreasonable taboo and instead we should help them.It also gave me a value I can use to help the women in my household such as my mother,I will be able to help her if she needs it and even my sisters when they are in trouble.
