Water  is  the most  valuable  gift  of God to  us .But  we  the so called  best  creation of  mother  earth , leaves  no stone  unturned to destroy  this  precious  component  of our  planet  . The  amount  of  soft water  is decreasing  day by day as the level  of  ground  water is  shrinking  down  and down  . Very  soon  this watery planet  will become a  dry one . Keeping  this in view Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides  has  started  its  new  project on the  harvesting  of rain water  .Rain  is  the  greatest source  of  soft water and  due to  our ignorance it becomes  salty after mingling in the  ocean. Instead  it  should  be  soaked  into  the ground. Therefore  Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides tries to  store it through various  means  as per the  guidance of  the  scientists. As the first step we have tried to increase the level of ground water by draining the rain water into some pits(like small wells) dug properly which can easily be soaked up. Previously that water get wasted by flowing into different direction. This event was inaugurated on Dt. 29.05.2021 inside the State Headquarters premises.  05 no's of participants perform enthusiasticly. After the success of this experiment Odisha State Bharat Scouts & Guides is inspired enough to spread the process among the local association of  different districts. Moreover the other procedures of rain water harvesting will be followed.
