Protect Yourselves from Dengue Fever
I am very passionate about helping other people and I never hesitate to help someone else if I am in a position to do so. Helping people isn’t a task. It’s our duty. It makes you happy after seeing the satisfaction on the faces of needy. It feels good. The rise in Dengue in Bangladesh, motivated me and my fellow mates to clean our school to keep everyone safe, as well as to set an example for the students who’d like to follow our path in the future one day.
My project was implemented as a team, as a result of the sense of partnership and cooperation. We started by cleaning our classes and disinfecting using a spray. We then collected the trash and threw them in an appropriate place. We made posters, in hopes of spreading awareness about the Dengue virus.
One of the most vexing challenges in the battle against dengue virus, a mosquito-borne virus responsible for 50-100 million infections every where. Around the time we did this project, Bangladesh was in a place where every 6 to 10 people had been infected with Dengue. So by spreading awareness, we’ve helped more than 500 students from our school.
I learnt how to have patience from this project. We had to clean for hours, so a lot of us got tired and wanted to give up. But we got reminded of our cause, why we were doing this. After taking rests in between, we cleaned and cleaned. We were tired and worn out, but had patience. We remembered how this project will benefit all the people around us. The fact we may be able to prevent some from having Dengue, motivated us to keep on going.
