Projeto de Serviço "Árvores de Esperança"

Projeto de Serviço "Árvores de Esperança"

The Projeto de Serviço "Árvores de Esperança" ("Trees of Hope" Service Project) was a reforestation project that emerged after the great fires of 2017 in Portugal. In the summer of that year more than 500,000 hectares of forest burned making these fires the deadliest and most catastrophic in the country's recent history with about 100 dead and many homes, lives and forest destroyed.
In view of this event the Clã 110 of the Scouts Group Agrupamento 1242 of Ramada created this project to bring hope to the affected populations, who lost everything by reforesting the burning area. We collected funds, where for every € 1 collected we were responsible for planting a tree. The project was present in 5 locations (São Martinho da Cortiça, Covas, Aldeia das Dez, Pedrógão Grande and Castanheira de Pera), collected more than € 1000 and was also able to plant 2106 trees in these localities.
It was undoubtedly a successful project that led to 3 of the 5 rovers that made up the project receive the "Scouts of the World Award".
