Reading Volunteering has been promoted in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, Indonesia. One of our Reading Volunteer Scout; Mrs. Pipit Ati, lead a small community of mothers and housewifes in Jatirejo Village in that Regency to voluntarily become a story teller for children and toddlers in their community. This weekly social gathering is used to be spent as public event for exhanging new recipes, snacks, and local gossips. Mrs. Pipit Ati come with our newest program that allow each mother or housewife to read or story telling in that weekly public event for children and toddler. This constructive activity also encourage mothers and housewifes to visit local library, register their membership, and start a new good habit of reading to improve their ability in story telling. Mrs. Pipit Ati will run this weekly program for a year in Jatirejo village to see the responds and improvements before she start another village for the program. We, from PRABUHI, also plan to give them reading workshop in the future.
